CALLING ALL KETCHUP LOVERS!!
This is a simple, little classic ketchup recipe. One to be thrown into a pan and left to simmer whilst waiting for your burger and chips to cook in the oven! It also has none of the nasties in regular shop bought ketchup, no preservatives, obscure chemicals or refined sugar.
I served my ketchup with a Linda McCartney ‘pulled pork’ style burger (made from soya protein), and sweet potato fries!!
This ketchup can be stored in an airtight container or sterilised jam jar for up to a week, ready for when you need it, to satisfy all your ketchup needs….
-1 can chopped tomatoes
-half a tube of tomato puree
-1/2 tsp salt
-1 tsp white wine vinegar
-1 tbsp agave nectar (or sweetener of your choice)
-1/4 tsp chipotle pepper
-1/4 tsp paprika
-1 tsp dried mixed herbs
-1/2 tsp onion powder
-1/4 tsp garlic powder
-4 bay leaves
-Add all ingredients to a pan and bring to the boil.
-Reduce to a simmer, adding a splash or two of water if needed.
Its as simple as that!
